Hydrogen Breath Testing
Hydrogen breath testing is a non-invasive way to aid in the diagnosis of fructose, lactose or polyol malabsorption, as well as small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).
Sugar malabsorption can trigger abdominal symptoms including diarrhoea, abdominal pain, bloating and wind. Diagnostic breath testing can then be used to help guide a gastroenterologist or dietitian manage SIBO or sugar malabsorptions.
This service is run in partnership with Russell Walmsley (Gastroenterologist at Waitemata Gastroenterology) to ensure all results get the most accurate and qualified diagnosis available.
Medical insurance may be able to cover your appointments so please check with your provider.
