Elize has quickly made a name for herself as a registered dietitian, having worked in the public system and now in private practice.
She began her training at Massey University gaining a BSc with first class honours in Human Nutrition and Physiology. After working at a science research facility she then moved to Auckland to complete her Masters in Health Sciences, undertaking a deeper dive into Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Auckland.
Elize began her working life as a dietitian developing and then teaching courses in chemistry, nutritional biochemistry, and clinical and human nutrition. Following that, she moved into a clinical role as a dietitian for Waitemata District Health Board. During this time she worked across both Waitakere and North Shore hospitals in a variety of areas as an inpatient and outpatient dietitian.
Elize gained a wide range of experience in medical and surgical - specialising in bariatric and gastrointestinal nutrition.
In addition to all of her professional commitments, she also lends her time to contribute to the foundation of her profession and currently holds the position of President of the Auckland Branch of the NZ Dietetic Association.
Elize brings to the table her interests in nutritional research, gut health, and disordered eating. She advocates for, and facilitates, positive behavioural change using both client focused and evidence based approaches.
